What’s in My Cart Right Now | Knitting, Books, Beauty & Hockey Mom Life
There’s something oddly satisfying about filling an online shopping cart. Sometimes I check out immediately. Sometimes I let everything marinate for a few days while I ask myself, Do I really need this? (Spoiler alert: the answer is occasionally yes...and occasionally “I deserve a little treat.”)
Here’s what I’m currently eyeing.
🧶 Knitting: A Rainbow of Unicorn Yarn
If you’ve been around here for any length of time, you already know that I have absolutely no shortage of fingering weight sock yarn. That has never stopped me from finding colorways that need to come live with me.
My current cart is full of Hobbii Unicorn yarn in some gorgeous shades:
Can we talk about those color names? They sound like the cast of a very optimistic fairy tale, and I’m here for it.
I’m also stocking up on Unicorn Solid in Navy and Light Gray. I plan to knot Hermione’s Everyday Socks for Audrey in Ravenclaw colors. I also have plans for a Friday Night Shrug for me striped in these colors.
One of the biggest reasons I’m placing this order is the sale. Between discounts, coupon codes, free shipping, and a free Lucky Bag acrylic yarn reward, it’s one of those purchases that feels a little easier to justify.
📚 Books: My Ever-Growing TBR
My Kindle and bookshelves are both whispering, “We’re full.”
My heart is replying, “But there is more.”

If you’ve read any of these, don’t tell me too much. I love going into a book knowing as little as possible. Half the fun is discovering the story as it unfolds.
I always like having a mix of historical fiction, contemporary fiction, and heartwarming reads ready to go because my reading mood changes almost as often as my knitting projects.

As someone who’s become much more intentional about the ingredients in my skincare and makeup, these are staples that have earned a permanent place in my routine.
🏒 Hockey Mom Purchases
My middle daughter is going to hockey camp this month. They have to bring all their own gear. Since she’s never played hockey before, she had to get a complete set of gear. My last purchase is her gloves. Hence, the reason the CCM Junior Next Hockey Gloves are in my cart.
✏️ One More Thing...
Kate is getting an Apple Pencil.
She’s an artist and insists she needs as an early birthday present for drawing. It’s one of those purchases that I know will get plenty of use, but a little ouchy on the price (especially if it winds up in the Frenchie’s mouth).
