This week was all about finishing one sock, immediately starting its sole-mate and trying to squeeze in as much reading as possible before a library book decides it’s time to go home. The knitting is moving right along, and my reading pile continues to keep me very busy.

Golden Hour Ribbed Sock #1: Finished!
The big knitting news this week: Golden Hour Ribbed Sock #1 is finished!
I immediately cast on Golden Hour Sock #2. I’m already up to Round 92 of 164, which is where the toe section begins. So Sock #2 is more than halfway through the leg and headed toward the finish line.

And speaking of toes, this week’s Sock School post is all about knitting sock toes. If you’re working on a pair of socks yourself, it’s a good time to brush up on the different ways to shape and finish the toe. [Read this week’s Sock School: How to Knit the Perfect Sock Toe]
There’s something very satisfying about getting the first sock finished and immediately seeing its sole-mate start to take shape. Of course, the second sock always seems to go faster because you already know exactly what you’re doing.

I’m hoping to keep the momentum going and get this pair finished soon.
Golden Hour Ribbed Sock
I also worked on my Golden Hour Ribbed Sock, and Sock #1 is almost to the toes.
I’m getting to that satisfying part of the sock where the finish line is finally in sight. Once I start the toe decreases, it won’t be long before Sock #1 is off the needles.
Of course, then I’ll have to knit Sock #2. But we’ll deal with that when we get there.
Reading
Tom Lake
I finished Tom Lake by Ann Patchett this week.
It was a nice change of pace after finishing Dexter is Dead, and I enjoyed settling into something completely different.
The Housewife
I also finished The Housewife.
Two books finished this week makes me feel pretty good about my reading progress, especially since I already had another book waiting in the wings.
Currently Reading:
The Vanilla Killer
I’m currently reading The Vanilla Killer, but there’s a little bit of a ticking clock involved.
My library loan returns in 24 hours, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to renew it immediately. We’ll see if I can beat the clock.
Three Products I’m Loving
Laughing Hens Baby Soft Cotton Yarn
I’ve also been loving Laughing Hens Baby Soft Cotton yarn.
It’s such a nice option when I want to work with cotton. The yarn is soft, easy to work with and perfect for small creative projects.
ChiaoGoo 9-Inch Circular Needles
My ChiaoGoo 9-inch circular needles continue to earn a spot on my favorites list.
They’re my go-to needles for socks, and I’ve been using them for so many of my recent sock projects that they have become one of those tools I don’t have to think twice about reaching for.
When you’re knitting socks regularly, finding the needles that work for you makes all the difference.
Counter All Bright Vitamin C Serum
I’m keeping Counter All Bright Vitamin C Serum on my list of favorites. It’s a brightening serum formulated with two stable forms of vitamin C, and it’s an easy addition to my skincare routine.
I like having a few reliable products that I can reach for without overthinking my routine. This one has earned that spot.
That’s a Wrap
So that’s my week:
Golden Hour Ribbed Sock #1 finished
Golden Hour Sock #2 cast on and already at Round 92 of 164
Two books finished: Tom Lake and The Housewife
Currently reading The Vanilla Killer
Trying to finish a library book before the clock runs out
Three products making this week’s favorites list
Now I’m off to see how many more rounds I can get through on Golden Hour Sock #2 before the library comes knocking.
