Weekly Knitting, Reading & Products I Love
Week ending August 16, 2026
This week was a little different on the knitting front. I spent some time making happy mail for fellow fiber artists, kept plugging away at my Golden Hour Ribbed Sock, and finished another book. Summer may be winding down, but there are still plenty of stitches and pages happening around here.
Knitting
Summer Snail Mail for Fiber Artists
I finished five Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) for the Summer Snail Mail exchange for fiber artists.
These little cards are such a fun way to combine creativity, fiber arts and snail mail. I love making something by hand and then sending it off to another fiber artist who gets to open a little piece of handmade happiness in their mailbox.
Five ATCs finished and mailed!
Golden Hour Ribbed Sock
I also worked on my Golden Hour Ribbed Sock, and Sock #1 is almost to the toes.
I’m getting to that satisfying part of the sock where the finish line is finally in sight. Once I start the toe decreases, it won’t be long before Sock #1 is off the needles.
Of course, then I’ll have to knit Sock #2. But we’ll deal with that when we get there.
Reading
Dexter Is Dead
I finished Dexter Is Dead this week, officially wrapping up my journey through the Dexter books.
It’s always a little strange finishing a series you’ve spent time with, especially when you’ve followed the characters through several books. Now I get to decide what kind of reading adventure comes next.
Currently Reading: Tom Lake
I’ve started Tom Lake by Ann Patchett.
It’s a completely different direction from Dexter, which is probably exactly what I needed. I’m looking forward to settling into it and seeing where the story takes me.
Three Products I’m Loving
ChiaoGoo 9-Inch Circular Needles
My ChiaoGoo 9-inch circular needles continue to earn a spot on my favorites list.
They’re my go-to needles for socks, and I’ve been using them for so many of my recent sock projects that they have become one of those tools I don’t have to think twice about reaching for.
When you’re knitting socks regularly, finding the needles that work for you makes all the difference.
Counter All Bright Vitamin C Serum
I’m keeping Counter All Bright Vitamin C Serum on my list of favorites. It’s a brightening serum formulated with two stable forms of vitamin C, and it’s an easy addition to my skincare routine.
I like having a few reliable products that I can reach for without overthinking my routine. This one has earned that spot.
That’s a Wrap
So that’s my week:
Five ATCs finished for Summer Snail Mail
Golden Hour Ribbed Sock progress
Sock #1 almost to the toes
Dexter Is Dead finished
Currently reading Tom Lake
Two favorite products making the list
It’s been a nice mix of knitting, creating and reading this week. And now I’m very tempted to see just how quickly I can get that Golden Hour sock to the toe.
