It’s officially October, which means Halloween knitting is getting very real around here. This week brought me very close to finishing Audrey’s Charlotte costume arm warmer, plus some progress on my first sweater and two finished books.
Here’s what I’ve been knitting, reading and loving this week.
What I’m Knitting
Audrey’s Arm Warmers for her Halloween Costume
The arm warmers for Audrey’s Halloween costume are so close to being finished!
If you missed it, Audrey is going to be Charlotte from Five Nights at Freddy’s for Halloween, and I’m knitting her a pair of arm warmers to complete the costume.
I’m at the end cuff on Arm Warmer #1 and getting ready to bind off. Arm Warmer #2 has also made it to the end cuff, so once I bind off the first one and can switch needle sizes, I’ll be able to finish the second one.
Then, the arm warmers will be DONE!
My First Sweater
I also spent some time working on the second sleeve of my first sweater.
I’m still in the six-round repeat decrease section, which I need to complete 15 times before I’m finished with that part of the sleeve.
And yes, I am still very much looking forward to the day when I can say my first sweater is finished.
What I’m Reading
I finished Whistler this week, as well as The Cat Who Saw Red.
And now I have two new books going:
Listening: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
I’m listening to The Handmaid’s Tale for what I think is the third time. Some books are worth revisiting, and this is definitely one of them. Listening to a familiar favorite also makes excellent knitting company.
Reading: Bertrand Court on my iPad
I just started this book so I don’t have much of an opinion quite yet!
Products I Love
Counter Luminous Hydration Body Oil
This week’s beauty favorite is the Luminous Hydration Body Oil from Counter. It’s an easy one to reach for when skin needs a little extra hydration.
Clover Swatch Ruler & Needle Gauge
A knitting tool that earns its place in my notions collection: a needle gauge that also works as a swatch ruler.
It’s one of those tiny tools that doesn’t look particularly exciting until you need to figure out what size needle you actually have in your hand. Then suddenly it’s the most useful thing in the knitting bag.
A Dedicated Project Bag
I’m also a big fan of having a separate project bag for each WIP. It makes it much easier to grab a project and go without hunting down the needles, notions and pattern first.
Right now, with multiple projects in rotation, project organization feels less like a luxury and more like survival.
Until next week, happy knitting!
