January Knits & Reads
January has come and gone. We kicked off the holiday season and somehow landed straight in a new year. Time is flying! Grab a cup of something warm and take a look at what I’ve been knitting and reading lately.

Upcycled sock knitting project/notions/makeup bag.
This was a fun project. I used DK yarn I had leftover from a sock-knitting project to knit a cover for a zipper pouch. I may add a zipper pull to it, but only time will tell.
WIPs (Works in Progress)
My first sweater is still on the needles. The good news is that I am on the body. The bad news is that I am still on the body. I have knit about 2.5” of the 17” body, so I still have a ways to go.
These are my Apple-y Ever After Socks. I am on the gusset decreases on Sock #1 and the heel of Sock #2.
Yarn: Hypnotic Yarn
Needles: Chiaogoo 9” circulars
I also have The Great Pumpkin Patch Socks on my needles. I’m on the heel of Sock #1 and the leg of Sock #2.
Yarn: Freckled Whimsy
Needles: Takumi Clover 9” circulars
I also cast on a new cover to upcycle another zipper pouch.
Yarn: Freckled Whimsey
Colorway: Love is in the Air
I’ve also been working on a DK Uniform Shortie Sock and have reached the foot.
Yarn: Mystery DK Yarn
Needles: Takumi Clover 9” Circulars
Reading
January was another solid reading month. Here’s what I finished:
The Favorites ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Amalfi Curse ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Happily Never After ⭐️⭐️⭐️
First-Time Caller ⭐️⭐️
Last Christmas in Paris ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Before Dorothy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Needled to Death ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Women of Oak Ridge ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am currently reading Beach Reads and Deadly Deeds.
You can order my January reads through Bookshop.org to add them to your bookshelf or TBR pile. Every purchase gives back to local bookstores and contributes to my Wool Work for Yarn Fund. Win-win!
January shaped up to be slow, steady, and full of stitches. I’m expecting lots of sock rounds, plenty of reading, and probably a few new knitting obsessions to kick off the new year. 🧶✨
