Halloween isn’t just for candy and costumes. It’s the perfect time to spread a little surprise and delight among your fellow knitters! This year, I’m adding a crafty twist to the tradition of Booing with Boo Your Fellow Knitters.
What is “Booing” for Halloween?
If you’ve never heard of it, “Booing” is a Halloween tradition where you secretly leave a treat or small gift for a friend or neighbor, along with a note letting them know they’ve been “Booed.” The fun part? The recipient then keeps the chain going by Booing someone else.
It’s all about community, kindness, and a little seasonal mischief. And now, I’m bringing that same spirit to the knitting world!
How Boo Your Fellow Knitters Works
I’ve taken the classic idea of Booing and made it digital, so U.S. knitters can join the fun — no matter which state you live.
Here’s how it works:
Sign Up. Register to be part of Boo Your Fellow Knitters by September 30.
Get Your Match. You receive the name and email address of another knitter in the program. I’ll start matching and sending emails October 1.
Send a Boo. Instead of dropping off a basket of candy, surprise your match with a Knitting On Me Gift Card. This way, they can treat themselves to yarn, tools, or a special notion that makes them (and their needles) happy. Boo your fellow knitter any day in October, but please do it by October 31.
Why Join the Fun?
🎁 It’s an easy way to surprise someone with a thoughtful, fiber-filled treat.
🧵 You help build stronger connections within our knitting community.
🎃 It’s festive, fun, and a little bit magical.
Halloween is the season of unexpected treats — and nothing says knitter love like a surprise gift card that fuels more making.
