Finished Objects (FOs)

This week had a satisfying finish line energy. I wrapped up two projects.

FSU Shortie Socks (Pair #10 for the Year)
Bright, bold and unmistakably collegiate. These shorties are officially off the needles and ready for ME to wear. They feel like summer in sock form.

• Yarn: Unicorn Solid

• Colorways: Burgundy, Mustard

• Pattern: Vanilla Sock

• Needles: Bamboo 9” Circulars

Banana Sock #1
The first sock in the set is complete and waiting for its sole mate. There is something oddly satisfying about finishing sock one when sock two is already queued up.

New Cast Ons

Because finishing things always seems to invite new beginnings.

Bestie Bookmark
A small, fast project that feels like a little handwritten note in yarn form. This one is joining my summer snail mail rotation, destined for another fiber friend.

Banana Sock #2
Immediately cast on after finishing sock one. No hesitation. No gap in momentum. Just straight into round two.

Hermione’s Everyday Socks

Still one of my most reliable “always pick up” projects. I’ve been steadily working down the foot section on both socks and I am almost halfway there on each one.

There is something comforting about this pattern. It doesn’t demand attention, but it rewards consistency.

I am halfway the legs on Hermione’s Everyday Sock #1 and #2. I’m having a ball with this pattern. It’s so fun to knit, and it’s bringing me a tremendous amount of joy.

Kate’s Hurricane Blanket

I’ve been working on my oldest daughter’s Hurricane Blanket. It’s such a soft, squishy yarn. I’m just knitting the entire thing, so it’s a dream to knit while watching TV or listening to a book. I’ve had some questions about the pattern. I don’t have one. I cast on about 230 stitches with US Size 6 Needles and I am flat knitting the entire thing.

• Yarn: Hurricane

• Colorway: Pink Coral

• Needles: Chiaogoo Red Twist Interchangeable US Size 6

My First Sweater

I knit about 37 rounds on sleeve #1 of my first sweater. I estimate i need to knit about 50 rounds to get to 7”.

• Yarn: Lion Brand Pound of Love – Sugar Cookie

• Needles: Chiaogoo Red Twist Interchangeable US Size 6

Bible Sweater

I am on still working on my Bible Sweater. I knit 34 rows so far. I’ve been asked about the pattern for this, too. I also don’t have one. I measured my bible to see how wide I need it to be. Then I measured the number of stitches I knit in 1”. Then I cast on the number of stitches to get the width I need. I am knitting on the right side (RS) and purling on the wrong side (WS).
